 Basketry is an ancient skill which has been used by aboriginal people all over the world.  The various materials used to make baskets range from region to region, as does the design and function.  The skill of making baskets is tremendously useful and applies to many areas of survival, primitive skills and bushcraft.  Baskets can be made into: carrying/storage containers, quivers, traps, and even cooking containers.  The knowledge of basket making can be used to make: shelters, structures and even bark canoes.
