Family, Youth and Teen Experience
This is a week-long adventure in learning about nature and the art of survival. You’ll experience the wonder of making fire without matches, creating a shelter that’s warm and safe, moving through the woods and silently approaching an animal. This is an amazing experience in which you’ll connect with nature in a new and powerful way. All skills are taught entirely through hands on and experiential learning techniques. This transformative experience is something treasured by the whole family.
Ages and Prerequisites: Families with children age 4-17
This program is designed for families to attend together or for youth, age 10-17, to attend without an adult. Children are divided into age group learning teams and some activities are done with the entire group. In addition to having their own adventures, adults engage in a week long workshop in the basics of “Coyote Teaching”-the methods behind what is being taught.
Students under 7 will be part of the “Coyote Pup’s” group. At this age, special care and appropriate teaching style are important. Parents will be on “call” if their child needs attention.
