Welcome to COTEF, The Children of the Earth Foundation.

Our Mission:  To ensure the survival of future generations by guiding youth and community toward a pure connection with the Earth.

We offer Earth Skills programs for children and families through our Coyote Tracks Public Programs in the summer, and our Concentric Rings Outreach Programs for schools and other groups throughout the year.

The Children of the Earth Foundation (COTEF) is a non-denominational educational non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization.  It was created by Tom Brown, Jr. in 2001 as an opportunity to offer his Tracker School teachings to children and families.  We are committed to hands on learning activities through the ancient art and science of tracking, awareness, and wilderness living skills.

Real experience.  Lasting results.
A guided adventure through the forgotten arts of tracking, nature awareness, and wilderness survival living.

Our summer Coyote Tracks programs include a variety of week-long and weekend programs for youth, teens and families. Our courses range from introductions to the art of survival, through advanced skills such as bow making, tracking, hide tanning, basket making and scout training. We have programs designed for children as young as age 4 through teens up to age 17.

Children who have been through one of our Concentric Rings Outreach Programs within the last two years get 10% off their first Coyote Tracks Program.  This discount cannot be combined with other discounts.

Children who have attended our programs can apply to come back as interns to help us and gain more experience in their skills.
"My son had such an incredible experience at COTEF last summer.  He gained not just skills, but confidence in himself while deepening his love and regard for nature.  He talks about what he learned with such excitement and joy!"  -- M. C. F.

Year-Round Programs for Home School, Scout, School, and Other Groups

"Just wanted to let you know how much Luke and Joe love the class. Some conflicts in [school] scheduling have come up, but there is never a question - my kids pick a COTEF class, hands down! They are so proud of the new skills they are learning. Thank you so much."

We come to your location to share our skills and teachings! We work with schools, Scouts, and other private groups.  These programs can be weekly, one day, weekends, or multiple days long.  We adjust them to fit your needs.  Any child who has been through one of our Concentric Rings Outreach Programs within the last two years gets a 10% discount on their first Coyote Tracks Program.  This discount cannot be combined with other discounts.
